KA PHAN NONGLAIT FALLS Phan Nonglait Falls is a beautiful, serene waterfall in the Eastern West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests and is known for its stunning beauty and peaceful atmosphere.It is name after the ‘Unsung warrior’ who fought against the British.

SACRED GROVE The Sacred groves are tracts of forest which are regenerated around places of worship. The Sacred groves of Lyngdoh Peinlang at Peinlang Village, Lyngdoh Mawlong at Mawlong village, Lyngdoh Nonglait at Mawkyllei – Lawbyrtun area, Lyngdoh Mawnai at Mawnai village helps in the protection of many rare, threatened, and endemic species of plants and animals in the area. The sacred Grove at Lawbyrtun-Mawkyllei is the largest amongst the groves with an area of 42 hectare approximately.

Kynshi River: Coursing like an artery of life through the Eastern West Khasi Hills, the multifaceted Kynshi and its tributaries feature some of the mightiest rapids and waterfalls along with a stunning riverine terrain. Rushing through the table-top landscape before it drops over the southern ridges, forming many impressive waterfalls along the way, the Kynshi River has many faces and moods. Those who venture into the scenic and less-travelled pockets of the district will value the mighty flow.The silver Reeds enhances the beauty of Kynshi River during the season.

TIROT SING ECOLOGICAL PARK This is a beautiful park at Mairangbah village where kids and elders can take delight .The old standing pine tree which dates back to the colonial period and U Tirot Sing statue are the two main attractions. There is a play area for kids. The park offers a good view of Sunrise and Sunset of Mairang Town. Besides, these attractions one can explore the entire Town and experience the culture, friendship and feel at home.

THE MAWTHADRAISHAN RANGE The Mawthadraishan Range runs east to west through the district. The highest elevation in the district is Mawthadraishan Peak at 1,924.5 metres (6,314 ft) above sea level, located approximately midway between Mairang and Nongstoin.

Laitarted Lake is amongst the popular tourist attractions of the district which is a must-visit. It is situated at Laitarted village of Nongthliew area. The lake is surrounded by a lush green grass with few pine trees. There is a footpath in the middle of the lake where one can relax and feed the fish in the lake. Boating is also one of the activities that can be enjoyed in the lake. Tirot Sing is one of the most celebrated freedom fighters of Krem hub.

Tirot Sing Cave holds an important place during the Khasi – Anglo war (1829-1833) being the strategic hideout of U Tirot Sing Syiem. An early 19th-century chief, Tirot Sing belonged to the faction of Khasi leaders who did not support the growing influence of the British in these eastern frontiers. The AngloKhasi war was fought and U Tirot Sing alongwith his band of faithful followers used guerilla tactics to evade and strike the militarily superior colonial forces – a battle between guns on one side, and swords and arrows on the other side.

MARKHAM AND REMKHLA VALLEY The Markham and Remkhla Valley locally known as Laitmurok viewpoint are situated in Markham and Mawkyllei Village respectively the valley located in between South West Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills District. These rolling hills and valleys are known for their unique beauty, misty mornings and graze land. The formation of green Hills transpire social tranquility and rural livelihood.

KYLLA KOHRIT FALLS Kyllakohrit a cliff-hugging plunge falls of Mawkyllei village presents a different aesthetic experience with a placid river suddenly dropping and , creates a curtain of flowing perennial water. KyllaKohrit is a sight that will make you think of the mighty Wahrilang. During the summer the waters can be seen at the bottom of the waterfalls which itself is located in the middle of a thickly forested area.

KHUDOI & KOHMANG FALLS The Khudoi and the Kohmang Falls provide a distinctive picture in the background and its spray from their pool fills up the entire valley. The Hanging Bridge above the Khudoi falls is a thrill for visitors. To get here you will have to visit Sohtyngkhur Village, the location where the fast-flowing Khri River gushes down.

THAMRONG FALLS The Thamrong Falls is hidden deep in the forest of Mawkarah village an example of curtain- spread waterfall. It is broad and hidden among trees, it is the tallest waterfall in the District and look most spectacular with crystal clear water falling over sharp rocks of myriad shapes. The sides of the waterfall are flanked by lush greenery and are rich in ferns.

THUP THUP FALLS Dropping from a height, the ThupThup Falls is one of the hidden treasures located at Nongliput village. Apart from the imposing cascades, the rather untouched and isolated natural location also brings cheers to nature enthusiasts and those looking for a quiet time off the beaten path. The roar of the falls can be heard from a distance and the flow is incredibly powerful especially during the monsoons and the following months, when the Khri River swells.

RIAT WAR SHRIEH Riat War Shrieh: Umjakoit village offers a scenic valley with a panoramic view of Mawlangsu cascading waterfall an ideal spot for photographers. One can set up a camp site for trekking down the valley.

MAWLANGREN SUNRISE (Domjynru) Witness the breathtaking Sunrise at MawlangrenVillage.As the sun begins to peek over the horizon, casting its gentle glow upon the earth, it’s the perfect time to embark on a captivating road trip to Mawlangren Village. The early morning hours offer a serene ambience and breathtaking vistas that made ones journey to this hidden gem in Meghalaya truly unforgettable.

MAWPYRDOI – MAWSNAR VIEW POINT The view point offers a panoramic view of RiBhoi District and Nongkhlaw area. Trekking down to Rina river and exploring the secluded life in the wild will add more value to the journey. The view point is situated at Mawsnar village under Mawpyrdoi area.to this hidden gem in Meghalaya truly unforgettable.

MAWHIANG ROCK Mawhiang Rock is an impressive natural monolith of Mawkyllei village – protrudes out of the pine forests of Eastern West Khasi Hills. There is a path which you can climb along with passage of split rock all along the way. The view from up there offers a splendid sight of valleys, sacred groves and sunset.

KYLLANG ROCK Kyllang Rock is an impressive natural monolith – a giant grey dome that juts out of the pine forests of Eastern West Khasi Hills. A series of footsteps will take one to the top of the rock. There are rest stops and summer houses along the way. The view from the top of the rock is spectacular – from green woods and quaint villages to mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets if you time your hike accordingly. LumKyllang is a geological marvel – an imposing rock formation that is about a thousand feet wide at its most prominent girth. Another attraction here is the presence of rare white rhododendrons scattered across the depressions and bushes at the base of the dome. Old oaks and various native flora add to the natural diversity of the area.
